Profile
I am an industrial designer, I’ve worked between Mexico and Colombia, in interior, brand and product design for the past 10 years.
My design posture is of creating products and spaces that have an emotional engine behind, a narrative, am answer that doesn ́t come from formal exploration, but from
conceptual background, emotional background. I devise creations as emotional centers, that given the right tools, can answer the questions regarding aspects of the design itself, from esthetic to function.
From this exploration of shape and space, the latest project is CÂSCARA, a firm dedicated to the creation of ecological beauty, specializing in packaging.

Material Qualities
Color, variable on input of waste soft / hard: light, variable depending on use shiny and mate, depending on materials, Smells: glicerine and material used Texture: soft and light, with memory. Others: The foams characteristic depends on the materials inside, the surface it is atteched to, and density.
Material Recipe
The recipe consists of creating a foam based material, adding agricultural leftovers and fibers, colorants and seeds depending on the type of waste used. Using a surface base, from cardboard to printed to textile, works as a structural material and diversifies the material possibilities and memory.
Material Application
The ideal would be to create the ABC Foam mix in injection sheets or shapes. The expanded polyestirene process is the industrial versionof the process we should acheive to make
ABC Foam. The attaching to di erent surfaces could vary the way this porcess is made, but the nature of the foam is to be a process more than a product.
1. Food packaging 2. Thermal insulating packaging 3. Transport of merchandise packaging ( deliverys) 4. Delicate product packaging 5. Editorial material packaging.

Material Method
-Mix foam ingredients in needed proportions -Cook ingredients of foam to boil. -Add and mix pigments for color ( spirulina waste) -Foam the material with mixer depending on how foamed needed, more time -Mix with reinforcing materials in the proportion desired, seeking uniformity of mix -Choose surface agent and prepare molding structure for casting -Place on the attaching materialand let dry - Separate and cut in format desired
Material Narrative
The most contaminating agent present in single use packaging is Styrofoam. From the gas it has inside (CFCs), its life (600-1500 yrs), and the fact it never degrades, just breaks down. There is a need for a new kind of foamed packaging material, since the lightness and isolation are necessary characteristics in today’s packaging needs. A new foamed material, with di erent characteristics and materials composing it, that can attach to new or recycled materials, changing the physical characteristics. The versatility of a foamed material is amazing, varying the host surface, agricultural leftovers present, pigment and concentration, the iterations become endless. THE RESULT: Adaptive, Biodegradable , Compostable Mutant Foam.
